Need and Importance of Hindi Typing
The Hindi Department of St. Thomas College, Bhilai, organized a one-day workshop on the topic “Need and Importance of Hindi Typing.” The aim of the program was to equip students & staff to develop proficiency in using Hindi keyboard layouts and to promote Hindi typing skills. The College Administrator, Father Dr. P. S. Varghese, appreciated the initiative taken by the Hindi Department.
The event was inaugurated with the inspiring words of the College Principal Incharge, Dr. Shiny Mendonce, who emphasized the significance and utility of Hindi typing. She highlighted that Hindi typing not only strengthens language knowledge and communication skills but also enhances employment opportunities in government, education, and technical fields. Dr. Debjani Mukherjee, The Dean Academics and Head Department of Psychology, also conveyed her best wishes for the workshop.
The workshop witnessed active participation from students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. Engaging activities and a Hindi typing examination were conducted during the session. The program was anchored by Captain Dr. Surekha Jawade, Head of the Hindi Department, Assistant Professor (Education). Dr. Santosh Kumar Miri, Assistant Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics, served as one of the judges, while Lieutenant Santosh Yadav from the Hindi Department provided valuable support.
Based on the Hindi typing skills, Ansh Panda Student of BCA, secured the first position and Ankita Ukey the second position, both of them were felicitated with mementos. In the non-teaching staff category, Mr. Pushkar Verma was also honored with a memento.
The workshop concluded with enthusiastic participation, leaving attendees motivated to continue enhancing their Hindi typing skills.
