Teach Beyond the Blackboard

A workshop titled “Teach Beyond the Blackboard” was successfully conducted by Department of Education, with the aim of enriching teaching–learning practices through experiential and activity-based methods. The session focused on developing essential skills required for effective classroom interaction beyond conventional teaching approaches.

The workshop was led by Ms. Neelima Gupta, (Executive Principal and Master Trainer-Helen O’Grady International Creative Education Academy) who served as the key resource person. She conducted a series of engaging and thoughtfully designed activities that emphasized the development of concentration, self-control, facial expressions, observation skills, and classroom awareness. These activities helped participants understand how non-verbal communication, focus, and presence play a crucial role in teaching and student engagement.

The session was further enriched by the valuable contributions of Ms. Preeti Jain (Director-Little Millennium Preschool Activity Centre). Their inputs complemented the main session and provided participants with diverse perspectives on effective classroom practices.

The programme was graced by Principal Dr. Shiny Mendonce and Head of the Department Dr. Deepti Santosh. The dignitaries felicitated the guests with mementos and commended the department for its constructive initiative.

The workshop was highly interactive and encouraged active participation from students. It enabled us to reflect on our own teaching styles and inspired them to adopt creative techniques that promote holistic development of learners.

Overall, the workshop proved to be informative, engaging, and impactful. It reinforced the importance of teaching beyond textbooks and blackboards, equipping educators with practical tools to make learning more meaningful and dynamic.
