Overview

The Department of Education of  St.Thomas College ,Bhilai was established in the year 2002 affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and migrated to Durg University in the year 2016.It is recognised by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). The course offered is 2 year B.Ed course with an intake of 100 students. The department has well equipped Psychology Lab, Science Lab, ICT Lab and departmental Library. The department has professionally committed faculty who train teacher trainees and provide exemplary teachers to the society.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a nurturing ground for individuals holistic development.
  • To equip the students with skills so as to enable them to overcome the day to day
  • To train in the use of ICT communication, media and innovative practices.
  • To inculcate in the individuals values and virtues so as to mould them to become best citizens .

OVERVIEW OF ASSOCIATION

Educational Association “educare” was formed in 2015 with the aim to provide a platform to the students to bring out their hidden talents and help in the all round development of their personality.The aim is fulfilled by organising various activities cultural, co-curricular ,workshops,seminars ,excursions ,outreach programmes.

OBJECTIVES  of“educare”

  • Overall mental, physical and emotional development of the teacher trainees.
  • To imbibe moral and ethical values pertaining to the needs of the society.
  • To preserve and transmit cultural heritage of our country to the coming generation.
  • To create sense of social awareness and belongingness among the students.
