BRIGHT MINDS LIKE YOURS
The College Examination System or CES is a powerful, integrated and an important component of the educational system followed in St. Thomas College, Bhilai. Learning must be evaluated through performance involving assessments that are both formative and summative. Students are informed ahead of time for the formative assessments and are conducted in the form of Unit Test, Half Yearly and Model Exams for courses in annual exam pattern, whereas for courses in Semester system only Unit Tests and Model exam is conducted. These Internal Examinations are conducted in all subjects of all courses. Examination/Tests schedules are displayed on the notice boards of the respective departments. Soon after the conduct of examination/tests, the results are announced and the performance of the students is discussed by the concerned class advisors/mentors in their respective classes. Retests are arranged for students interested to improve their marks and those who couldn’t appear for the tests. Email, WhatsApp and Google Classroom are used for dissemination of examination schedule, question papers and results.
The college strictly follows the University mechanisms regarding the Internal Assessments as a part of summative assessment to determine their grades.
Performance evaluations (PE) for student are an integral part of teaching learning process. PE is mandatory at St. Thomas College as it serves as an important tool that assists student by highlighting their strengths and constructively identifying areas for improvement.
