Overview

St. Thomas College, Bhilai is committed in equipping the young minds with scholastic and non-scholastic skills necessary to respond to the opportunities and challenges associated with the ever-changing societal demographics. In extension with this the college has established The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in the college with the vision to develop entrepreneurial interest among students. Institution Innovation Council (IIC) is set up under the guidelines of MHRD dedicated to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among its faculty members and students. The cell works to develop entrepreneurial ecosystem in the college needed for speedy growth of economy of the nation. It helps the aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own enterprise by extending necessary guidance and exposure to the students. The Cell organizes various activities like awareness program, interactive sessions with successful entrepreneurs and skill development programs.

Objectives

  • To inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among the students.
  • To aware the students with entrepreneurial theory and practice by organizing awareness programs, interactive sessions and workshops.
  • To help aspiring students to develop their own enterprise by proper mentoring.
  • To help students in furnishing their potential ideas which can be developed into a business.
  • To collaborate with organizations that would provide consultancy and proper path to the budding entrepreneurs.

Short term goal

  • To conduct Entrepreneur awareness program, Entrepreneurship Certificate Course, Skill development activities.
  • To equip students with the knowledge to start and implement a business plan.

Long Term Goals

  • To build successful entrepreneurs.
  • Develop an Incubation Center in the college to help students incubate their ideas.
