Overview
The Department of SOCIOLOGY was launched in the year 2020, to orient students with sociological perspective on regional and national issues. It also aims to develop interest and teach the importance and significance of sociology in connection with other disciplines. The department is committed towards promoting awareness amongst students for social concerns and community service.
Objectives
- The objective of this newly incepted course is to educate, train and prepare students for successful careers in their chosen field.
- The mission is to form a community of individuals with concern for the marginalized in the society.
- To create social consciousness and awareness among students for productive social life.
- To equip students for utilization of sociological knowledge for the betterment of social world and help them to participate in the wide process of social as well as self-empowerment and nation building process.
- The inculcation of the spirit of “society” among the students.
Facilities
- Special Teaching Assistance Program (STAP) – To make a difference and give the slow learners the support they deserve while pursuing their education. The main role of STAP is assisting, monitoring and supporting such students in behavior modification and personal development.
- Internet Facility – To avail broad educational content on any topic with different types and thereby helping the students to keep up with what is happening around the world.
