St. Thomas College is keen to nurture a research culture amongst its students and staff. Apart from the requirements of PG programs regarding dissertation and seminar, staff members of various departments are also engaged in intensive research work as guides for Ph.D. degree.

COPRA is responsible for promoting research activities by making faculties aware of the various research opportunities that can be explored through STRIDE, ICSSR etc. It also gives updates about the research grants that can be availed through various funding agencies. It encourages the college staff to take up major and minor research projects at local and national level. It assists them in forging research collaborations with faculties of other departments of the college as well as with those of other institutes that enables knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer among the educationists. To hone the analytical and writing skills of staff and scholars, it organizes lectures, workshops, seminars, webinars on Research Methodology, Report Writing etc.
