Anti-Ragging Cell in association with UGC, IQAC, NSS and NCC of St. Thomas College Bhilai had organized the “Anti -Ragging Awareness Week” from 12th August 2023 to 18th August 2023 .The program commenced with the prayer by the students. Dr.Chanda Verma Principal Incharge PG Department of Chemistry formally addressed the students about the origin and menace of ragging in India and also explained the legal consequences of involvement in such activities. She further briefed them about the different strategies and action plan for curbing the menace of ragging in the college by adopting various measures and activities and also reiterated that anyone who is actively or passively, or is a part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished. Further the staff members of the College Ms. Manju, Dr. Suruchi, Ms. Sulagna, and Mr. Kailash Narayan Verma also highlighted on the seriousness of the act and informed students to respect their moral ethic and responsibility towards the society. Ms. Deepika, Lucky, Khileshwar, Shrishti, Pushkar, Urvashi, Sahu, Khomendra and Shiuli also created awareness on Apps can be used in times of danger across the state and asked every student to download the App. The Guidance and Counseling Cell of the college conducted an Orientation program on anti- Ragging at St. Mary’s Girls hostel of St. Thomas College Bhilai .Dr. Debjani Mukherjee Convener of the Cell conducted the session for the Hostel inmates. Of the institution also addressed the students.Maximam Number of Staff members and students witnessed the event.The program was conducted and vote of thank was proposed by Ms. Tulika Harshit.
