There are established systems and procedures for utilization, maintenance &purchase of physical, academic and support facilities-laboratory, library, sports complex, computers, classrooms Etc.The College ensures the availability of latest equipment and up-to-date infrastructure in the institution.

Every year a particular budget is allotted to upgrade the laboratory, classrooms and library resources. Quotations are invited from different resource providers and purchased according to the costing and quality of materials.. Computers and other instruments undergo annual maintenance by service providers. The college also maintains a well defined library facility for students with both central and departmental library. According to the need the books are upgraded and new editions are purchased. The data of books is maintained by computer software’s to make it user friendly.

Every department maintains a stock register for keeping track of the available equipment. Proper inspection is done and verification of stock takes place at the end of every year. Periodic reporting on requirements of repairs and maintenance are submitted by the HODs to the administrative office. The requirements are collectively processed in every semester break so as to keep things ready for the new semester. Various committees of the College are constituted to plan and ensure that the available infrastructure is in line with its academic growth and is optimally utilized. Suitable budget is allocated every year for the maintenance of various facilities.

The college has a spacious sports complex with a basketball court, volleyball court & has seating capacity of 100 people. It is used as a venue for hosting college level & inter college competitions Facilities for indoor sports like table tennis, carom & chess are also there. The institution also has a fitness centre that has equipment for free weight exercises, bodyweight exercises, resistance machine exercises and stretching exercises

Adequate in-house staff is employed to meticulously maintain hygiene, cleanliness and infrastructure on the campus so as to provide a congenial learning environment. Wash rooms and rest rooms are well maintained. Dustbins are placed in every floor. The green cover of the campus is well maintained by full time gardeners. Optimum working condition of all equipment on the campus is ensured through annual maintenance contracts to external agencies that includes maintenance of generator, air conditioners, computers, LAN servers, printers, projectors, scanners, surveillance cameras, &biometric attendance system. Estate manager and his team are involved in the maintenance of infrastructure facilities. They look after the regular maintenance of civil works such as furniture repairs, masonry and plaster works, painting, carpentry, plumbing and house- keeping. Equipment like generators, water motors, pumps, water purifiers and water coolers are also taken care of. Day to day maintenance ensured by the support staff. The quality of drinking water is tested time-to-time overhead water tanks are cleaned periodically. The fire extinguishers are also refilled timely. Watchmen are deployed in shifts to ensure full-fledged security of institutional premises & girl’s hostel both during the day & night.

2018-19

The procedures and policies for utilizing various facilities vary in different extents. Institute has well defined policy for maintenance and utilization of all its physical and academic facility which includes use of equipments in various laboratories, use of e-library facility, access to e-journals of the institute through internet login and password, use of computers in information processing centers and departmental laboratories.The policies for using the college library are outlined in detail in the college prospectus as well as the college website.Maintenance of the computers is carried out by appointing external agencies that take care of installing Software operating systems and other applications on all the computers of the institute. AMC of the computers also involves replacement of faulty hardware and addition of the hardware augmenting the system configurations. The computers in the different academic departments are used by the academic staff and the students as well for different purposes. Laboratories in various departments function under the strict control of the respective departmental heads and the laboratory bearers (both sanctioned and non-sanctioned) are responsible for maintaining the laboratory facilities, under instruction from the departmental heads. Equipments in all the laboratories are also maintained through annual maintenance contracts given to either manufacturers or their agents. Maintenance of civil works like painting, carpentry, furniture repair, plumbing etc are done from time to time. Annual maintenance of computers , projectors, scanners,printers,cameras are outsourced to different agencie. Every department has its stock register for keeping record of its stock and equipments which is inspected and verified every year. The Language Lab of the college is coordinated by the English Department. All classrooms, seminar halls, Building, Hostel, are maintained under the supervision of Administrator and the Management. Institute has appointed a Dean, Academics for monitoring the academic activities of the College. Students are encouraged to participate in extra and co-curricular activities and sport activities and their also in Institutional and National and International competitions. The College has a sports Complex with Volley Ball court, basket ball court, Lawn Tennis, Football ground, Cricket pitch and two balconies to accommodate 100 people each. The Girls Hostel of the college is under the supervision of a Hostel Advisory Committee, which looks after the management aspects of the hostel. A lady warden is stationed in the girls’ hostel to manage the day to day affairs of the hostel. The Gymnasium is under the supervision of a Sports Officer. Sufficient house keeping staff is employed to maintain hygiene, cleanliness in the campus. An electrician is employed by the college who remains in the campus for maintenance of all electrical equipments and also for running the silent diesel generator set during electrical load shedding. Wash rooms and rest rooms are well maintained. There are gardeners to maintain the garden in the campus. The College has VandeMatram Park which has a statue of Bharat Mata all the National Festivals are celebrated there. Generator, Water purifier, water coolers, pumps and other equipments are properly maintained. Suggestion Boxes are installed through which suggestions are received and implemented. The College has an IQAC room which is used for IQAC meetings and Discussions. The College has a canteen, where healthy and hygienic food is available. There is one Conference and one seminar Hall with LCD Facility which is used for seminars, workshops, conferences and Presentations. The College has separate NCC and NSS room where the program officers along with the cadets and volunteers keep their necessary things. There is parking facility for both students and staff. The Car Parking for the staff members is behind the Catholicate Block.

2017-18

The college has an effective policy in place in order to create and enhance the infrastructure that facilitates effective teaching and learning.There is a proper system and procedure for procurement of physical, academic and support facilities. The college follows numerous procedures to maintain the facilities available to the students like laboratory, library, sports complex,classrooms, computers etc. The college has a range of classrooms. Each room can accommodate 80 students. Some rooms are small for smaller class strength. Each class has sufficient furniture, Lights fans and proper ventilation for the students. Each department has sufficient cupboards, book shelves, racks, computers printers and scanners. In order to provide the latest technological devices to both students and staff there are LCD Projectors and OHPs.There is a special internet facility in the Library for the use of both staff and students. The college also maintains a well-defined library facility for students with both central and departmental library. According to the need the books are upgraded and new editions are purchased. About 30 research journals are subscribed by the institution to maintain and update the researchers working in the college. The college also provides unique Book Bank facility to students in which they can avail upto four books for the whole academic session apart from the normal issuing facility of 5 books for 15 days. The data of books is maintained by computer software’s to make it user friendly. The College gives due importance to sports activities as well and tries to provide the required facilities to the students. There is a sports complex which has basket ball ,volley ball, lawn tennis court, football and cricket ground It is a matter of pride for the college that its students regularly win sporting laurels at International, National, State and University Levels. There is a well maintained play ground in the campus with the required facilities. The students are encouraged to participate in various tournaments and due consideration is given for admission to those students who have participated in National level sports events. Various scholarships and endowments are given to the students proving excellence in academics and sports.Day to day maintenance ensured by the support staff. The fire extinguishers are also refilled timely. Watchmen are deployed in shifts to ensure full-fledged security of institutional premises & girl’s hostel both during the day & night. The maintenance of the reading room and stock verification of library books is done regularly by library staff along with the library committee.Orders for books are placed annually by every department & the finalized list is duly approved by the Principal. Proper account of visitors (students and staff) on daily basis is maintained. Other issues such as weeding out of old titles, schedule of issue/return of books etc. are chalked out by the library committee Installation of solar panels, garbage segregation in the hostel, making compost pits, erecting greenhouse within the campus & undertaking partial organic farming for the hostelers are some of institutional initiatives towards environmental conservation. The college lab assistants &lab attendants to ensure proper upkeep of the various labs. The calibration, repairing and maintenance of sophisticated lab equipment are done by the technicians of related enterprises. The microscopes used for biological experiments are annually cleaned and maintained by the concerned departments and record of maintenance is maintained by lab technicians & supervised by HODs of the concerned departments.There is a systematic disposal of all types of waste such as bio-degradable, chemical and e-waste. Small instruments like balance, microscope, pHmeter, dissolution apparatus, mixer& hot plate are repaired time-to-time.All computers and peripherals are checked by respective technical assistants for any problem. The software updates and ICT tool and internet related problems are resolved from the respective service providers.The College has an IQAC room which is used for IQAC meetings and Discussions. The College has a canteen, where healthy and hygienic food is available. There is one Conference and one seminar Hall with LCD Facility which is used for seminars, workshops, conferences and Presentations. The College has separate NCC and NSS room where the program officers along with the cadets and volunteers keep their necessary things. There is parking facility for both students and staff. The Car Parking for the staff members is behind the Catholicate Block.

2016-17

The college is committed to provide good infrastructural facilities to the students for effective implementation of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The college follows numerous procedures to maintain the facilities available to the students and to keep up the pace of academic growth of the college. Particular amount of funds are allotted every year for upgradation of the laboratory, classrooms and library resources. Laboratory staff keeps the record of procured chemicals and glaswares while instruments undergo annual maintenance by service providers. Practicals in laboratories are then done in batch wise manner for proper utilization of these resources under continuous monitoring of supporting faculty members. Computer laboratories are upgraded every year with different software as per need. Skilled personnel looks after the IT services like college website, smooth running of automation, troubleshooting of hardware and software. Each Department is equipped required numbers of computers and printers. The college campus is WI-FI enabled. The college also maintains a well defined library facility for students with both central and departmental library. According to the need the books are upgraded and new editions are purchased. Library has a peaceful research journal reading room as well in which subscribed research journals are available to update the researcher’s working in the college. The college also provides unique Book Bank facility to students through which the students can avail upto four books for the whole academic session apart from the normal issuing facility of 5 books for 15 days. Health care center is maintained for any medical emergency in the college in which first aid care facility is available. The college provides a girls hostel facility within the campus which is maintained by the hostel staff. The hostel provides a well disciplined and peaceful environment to the students within the green college campus.
