Online Yoga Session on The Occasion of International Yoga Day 2020
Yoga is not only physical exercise but a healthy lifestyle. It is something to be practiced daily. Today we all are facing mental turmoil and stress, making the practice of yoga even more beneficial. With this in mind, St. Thomas College, Bhilai, organized online yoga session to celebrate the International Yoga Day 2020.The yoga session was conducted by Mr. G. M. Arun Kumar, affiliated to the Munger School of Yoga. Mr Arun Kumar, in a very simple way explained the benefits of various yogic exercises and demonstrated the way to perform them. Convener of the program Dr. M. G. Roymon, Principal, St. Thomas College, Bhilai in his address stressed that all students should participate in such program as the present pandemic has affected their lives the most and peace and tranquility achieved through focused training appeals to everyone. He further stated that the relevance of Yoga has increased many folds in todays time. The program was jointly organized by the IQAC and NCC unit of the college. Dr. Debjani Mukherjee, IQAC coordinator pointed out, that all physical distress can be overcome with positive mental strength and practice of yoga leads to that goal. Dr. Surekha Jawade, incharge of NCC assisted in the organizing of the program and gave the vote of thanks.
