World Intellectual Property Rights Day

The PG Department of Economics St .Thomas College, Bhilai in collaboration with Holy Cross Women’s College, Ambikapur organized an online Guest Lecture on “Scope of Intellectual Property Rights in Academics”. The session’s guest speaker was Dr. Parul Sinha Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, Amity University, Raipur Chhattisgarh. On this occasion administrator Dr. Joshi Varghese and Principal Dr. MG Roymon, faculties, research scholars, and students of St Thomas College and Dr. Shanta Joseph Principal, Dr. Kalpana Guha HOD Department of Economics, other faculties of Holy Cross Women’s College, Ambikapur were present. At the outset, Dr. Aparna Ghosh, HOD, PG Department of Economics, welcomed the guests and participants of the session. The Guest Speaker Dr. Parul Sinha started the session by a detailed discussion on the conditions for patentability, non-patentable matters, and steps for granting patents. Further she told the detailed procedures for filing applications for patents and copyrights. She also explained the importance Trade Mark and procedure of filling it. The session was very interactive and at last the queries session was addressed by the resource person. Dr Kiran Das, faculty of Economics coordinated the programme and Ms Aparna Dutta faculty was also present in the programme and the vote of thanks was proposed by student od MA Economics IVth Semester Ajo Thomas. The whole session was very fruitful for faculties and students.
